Ten days ago, in a tale of two starts, Antonio Senzatela and Trevor Bauer faced off with Senzatela giving up seven runs on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings, while Bauer carried a no-hitter through six innings and recorded 10 strikeouts and one walk. In an odd game that also included a cat cruising in around in the outfield at Coors Field, the Dodgers came out on top, winning 11-6.
Senzatela (1-1, 5.56), who is coming off an impressive eight-inning shutout performance with four hits and two walks against the Diamondbacks in an 8-0 Colorado victory. He’s slider was working and the Rockies are hoping Senza stays hot as the Rockies try to snap a three-game losing streak.
The offense will also hope to pick back up where they left off with Bauer (1-0, 4.15), even though he’ll be on his home turf at Dodger Stadium. After being befuddled by Bauer for six innings on April 3, Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon hit homers in the seventh to help the Rockies put up four runs on the 2020 Cy Young Award winner. Bauer had a similar start in his second of the season as he also held the A’s hitless with 10 strikeouts through six, but then gave up another homer in the seventh.
The Rockies (3-7) will have to face Mookie Betts, who will be back in the lineup for the Dodgers (8-2) after missing the last four games with a sore lower back.
