Rockies, Mets game postponed due to inclement weather

The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow

As both the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets arrived in Denver last night to an April snowstorm, there were concerns about the series kicking off on time. Those concerns have come to pass, and tonight’s 6:40 PM game has been postponed due to the snowy conditions in Colorado.

The game will be made up tomorrow afternoon as the first game in a double header, the Rockies’ first of the season. Tonight’s scheduled starter, Chi Chi González, will pitch the first game. Saturday’s original scheduled starter, Germán Márquez, will pitch the second.

Per MLB rules established during the shortened 2020 season, each game in the double header will be seven innings long. Any inning after the seventh will operate with extra innings rules, including the baserunner on second.
