After yesterday’s sterling victory, the Colorado Rockies will look to continue their good fortunes with a win against Los Angeles’s new number two starter, Trevor Bauer.
Senzatela, slotted in as the Rockies’ number two starter following Kyle Freeland’s injury, is looking to build off of his strong 2020 season in which he went 5-3. He posted career-low ERA (3.44) and BB/9 (2.2) numbers, while posting a 2.20 K/BB ratio. Senzatela looks to continue his progression this season.
Bauer, on the heels of a season in which he posted a 1.73 ERA in 11 games and won the National League Cy Young award, signed a three-year deal with the reigning World Series Champion Dodgers this offseason. He’ll be looking to get off to a fast start for his new employers, who are attempting to become the first repeat world champions since the 1999 & 2000 Yankees.
After going 3-for-3 on Thursday, Chris Owings will get the start in center field. His performance yesterday was a key part in the Rockies victory over Clayton Kershaw. Dom Nuñez and Ryan McMahon will get their first start of the season at catcher and second base, respectively. Charlie Blackmon, the only starter to not record a hit on Thursday, will try to get in on the action today.
