After defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers on their home turf on Friday night, the Colorado Rockies look to win game two of the three game set on Saturday.
Jon Gray (7-10, 4.13 ERA) will take the mound for the Rockies and will look to rebound from a rough stretch in which he was saddled for the loss in each of his last four outings. Gray is 0-4 with a 6.75 in the month of August, stumbling in what has otherwise been a very solid season. He is pitching on the last year of his current contract and will look to finish strong heading into the offseason.
Gray has pitched against the Dodgers 19 times in his career and has a 5-7 record and 4.36 ERA over his 99 innings pitched against them. In four starts against LA this season, Gray is 0-1 with a 3.43 ERA over 21 innings pitched.
For the Dodgers, Corey Knebel (3-0, 4.15 ERA) gets the call as the opener. David Price was a late scratch and it is unclear what the plan will be for Dave Roberts when Knebel leaves the game. In his career, Knebel is 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA against the Rockies over 18 games and 18 innings pitched.
