Rockies release 2022 schedule

The Colorado Rockies joined the rest of Major League Baseball in releasing their 2022 schedules today

The Colorado Rockies, along with the rest of Major League Baseball, released their schedule for the 2022 season today. The Rockies’ season will start on March 31, 2022, with a four-game series at Chavez Ravine against the Los Angeles Dodgers, while the home opener at Coors Field (also against the Dodgers) is on Friday, April 8.

The Rockies will play their NL West big brother seven times in the first two weeks of the season with a short two-game trip to San Diego sandwiched in between. The rebuilding Chicago Cubs will also make their annual sojourn to the Mile High City in April with a four-game series starting April 14.

The Rockies interleague schedule for the 2022 season is against the American League Central, starting with a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in April. The Rockies will face the Kansas City Royals and newly renamed Cleveland Guardians at home in May and June respectively. The Minnesota Twins will host the Rockies at Target Field in the end of June, and the Chicago White Sox will split four games with the Rockies, playing two at Coors Field in July, and two in the Southside in September.

In addition to the AL Central games, the Rockies will enjoy a third consecutive year of interleague play against the American League West’s Texas Rangers. The Rockies will travel to Globe Life Field in Arlington for a two-game set in April, and host the Rangers for a two-game set at Coors Field in August.

While the Rockies could potentially be a very different looking team in 2022, they will still play 162 games of baseball, and Purple Row will be here to cover all of it.
