Colorado Rockies game no. 135 thread: Huascar Ynoa vs Antonio Senzatela

The Home Rockies look for a bounce back after yesterday’s disappointing loss

Despite a grand slam from Charlie Blackmon, the Colorado Rockies fell to the Atlanta Braves 6-5 yesterday due to early pitching struggles from Chi Chi González and Yency Almonte. Today the Rockies will look to lean on Antonio Senzatela to keep the Braves in check and pull off a road win against the NL East leaders.

Antonio Senzatela is tonight’s starting pitcher for the Rockies, coming off a quietly excellent August. In last month he put up an ERA of 2.93 over five starts with 22 strikeouts to six walks, as well as being the only Rockies starter not to give up a home run. Senzatela’s last outing was an utterly dominant seven shutout innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers with five strikeouts.

On the bump for the Braves is the 23-year old righty Huascar Ynoa. Ynoa is ramping back up for the end of the season after missing a huge stretch of the season with a broken hand. Despite that, he’s got an ERA of 2.90 over 12 games and 11 starts. Ynoa rolls with a four pitch mix, primarily utilizing a slider and four seam fastball. He also throws a changeup and a sinker.
