NLCS and ALCS October 23 Discussion Thread: Diamondbacks vs Phillies; Rangers vs Astros

The awesome League Championship Series continue.

What a League Championship Series this has been. By the end of the day, we’ll know who’s headed to the World Series for the American League — and perhaps for the National League as well.

First, we return to Citizens Bank Park for Game 6 of the NLCS where it’s win or go home for the D-backs.

Taking the mound for the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks is Merrill Kelly. He has a 3.00 ERA (0.92 WHIP) in 12.0 innings pitched. Kelly has struck out 11 and been the D-backs’ most-effective pitcher in Philly.

Aaron Nola will get things started for the Phillies. He brings a 0.96 ERA (0.75 WHIP) in 18.2 innings pitched with 19 strikeouts.

The game will air on TBS at 3:07 pm.

Meanwhile, we’ll have a AL champion by the end of the day as the Houston Astros host the Texas Rangers. (And what a game that was last night.)

The Rangers will start Max Scherzer who comes into the game with an 11.25 ERA (1.50 WHIP) in 4.0 innings pitched. He also has four strikeouts. It’s safe to say that his previous outing did not go well, and h’ell look to improve tonight.

For the Astros, Cristian Javier will take the mound. He comes into this game with a 1.69 ERA (0.94 WHIP) in 10.2 innings. In terms of strikeouts, he’s earned 12.

The game starts at 6:07 pm on Fox/FS1.

(I’m in class today, but I’ll do my best to keep things updated.)
